Fantastic family break!

We just got back from a Summer Holiday in a Pet Friendly Caravan at Trecco Bay and had the most amazing time! The kids absolutely loved the swimming pool and the Adventure Play Areas. Our caravan was so clean and comfy, and it was great that our dog could come too. Booking was super easy online, and the whole park had such a fun atmosphere. We're already planning our next trip, truly a great holiday spot!

Easy booking, decent stay

I booked a Midweek Break at Cayton Bay. The caravan was fine and clean. On-site Dining was convenient. Check-in was fast. No real complaints, it was what I expected for the price.

Good value, minor issues

I booked a Lodge Holiday at Warmwell for a week in July. The booking process online was straightforward, and the price was decent for peak season. The lodge itself was clean and well-equipped, though the WiFi was pretty spotty which was a bit frustrating for the kids. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly enough. Overall, it was a good trip, but they could definitely improve the internet service.

Thinking of booking a last minute break for October half term with the family. Any decent discounts usually available around then or should I just go for it now?

R Rachel Q. 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually do some kind of 'school holiday special' for those peak times. Keep an eye out closer to the date, might snag something good.

I've always found better deals if you book a bit in advance. Last minute can be hit or miss, sometimes prices go up if places are filling fast. Maybe check the newsletter, sometimes they have early bird stuff for specific dates.

How do those Sun Holiday codes work? Can you actually get a decent stay for like £9.50 or is it a bit of a scam?

C Cleo Marsh 1 month ago
It's not a scam! But it's usually for off-peak dates and you often have to pay for extras like entertainment passes and linen. Still a bargain if you're flexible.

Yeah, totally legit. I've done it a few times. You have to collect the codes from the newspaper, and then you usually get a choice of parks and dates. The price is per person, and like the other person said, expect to pay for electricity/passes on top.

Looking at Parkdean vs Haven for a summer break with kids. Anyone got experience with both? Which one's better for entertainment and stuff for littl'uns?

R Renee 2 months ago
I'd say Parkdean often has more variety in terms of parks and locations. Haven can be a bit more 'big resort' vibe. For little ones, both are pretty good, depends on the specific park really. Check out the park's entertainment schedule before you book.

Honestly, they're pretty similar. Parkdean felt a bit newer to me last time we went. Both have pools and kids clubs. Maybe compare prices for the dates you want at specific parks, that might swing it.

Are the swimming pools free to use or do you have to buy the entertainment pass for them?

N Neil 2 months ago
You usually need the entertainment pass to use the swimming pools and other main facilities. It's part of the deal.

Yeah, pretty sure the pool access is tied to the pass. Most of the 'free' stuff is just the adventure playgrounds and general site access.

Can I bring my dog to any of the Parkdean locations? Just wondering if it's specific parks or if most are cool with pets.

S Sarah Romero 1 month ago
Loads of their parks are pet friendly! Just make sure you select the pet friendly option when you're booking, sometimes it's a specific caravan type. My little pug loved it last year.

Not all of them, but a good chunk are. You gotta check the park details page or use the filter on their site for 'pet friendly holidays'. There's usually an extra charge for the doggo too, fyi.
